Battlefront: Flames of War; Fate of a Nation Sale! 12-29 June 2015

The Battle of An-Nakhl Sale
Battle of An-Nakhl Sale
Six Days In June
The 'Battle of An-Nakhl' Arab-Israeli War Sale
It took the Israeli army six days in June 1967 to destroy the armies of their neighbours. To commemorate this conflict and celebrate the imminent return of the Desert Fort, we are having our 'Battle of An-Nakhl' Arab-Israeli War Sale.
For a little over two weeks we will be reducing the price of all Arab-Israeli War boxes and blisters by 40%. There will be no confusing 'buy two, get one free' this time - just a straight discount.
The Fate Of A Nation book will also be reduced to US$10.
Capped Shipping
We will be capping the price of shipping during the sale to a maximum of:
US$10 / €8 / £5
*Plus US$10 / €8 / £5 for each Desert Fort and Ruins included in your order.
(The Desert Forts will be shipping separately, and are such large, bulky items it would be too costly to include them in the capped shipping.)

What was the Battle of An-Nakhl?
After punching through the Arab defences at Abu Ageila, General Ariel Sharon’s 14th Mechanised Brigade raced towards An-Nakhl and the Mitla Pass to cut off the retreating Arab forces before they reached the Suez Canal. General Shazli’s armoured Task Force reached the old Turkish fort at An-Nakhl first, holding it long enough for the Arabs to slip out of the Israelis' grasp.
The fighting around the fortress is a perfect chance to use the fantastic Battlefield in a Box Desert Fort, with its unique special rules, which can be found here...
Battle of An-Nakhl Sale
Coming next week we will will have the Battle of An-Nakhl scenario for you to download...

 Desert Fort - Get it now!The Battle of An-Nakhl Sale Q & A
Q: When will I be charged for my order?
A: Just like the Vietnam sale, orders will be charged once they are downloaded from the website by our warehouse staff and processed in our sales system.
Q: Will the dicounted pricing be listed in the online store?
A: Yes, the prices for AIW items will include the 40% discount, and all sale items will be clearly identified.
Q: Will Fate Of A Nation digital content be reduced in price for the duration of the sale?
A: Yes, but only Flames Of War Digital (unfortunately we don't have the ability to apply discounts in Forces Of War)
Q: Will there be enough stock?
A: Yes, all AIW products are well stocked in anticipation for the sale. But if demand is higher than our stock levels, we will produce the excess as soon as possible and completely fulfil orders in the same order that they came through the webstore. So get in early to avoid disappointment. The Desert Fort (and Ruins) will ship separately from the rest of your order as we are waiting for the stocks to arrive.
Q: How long does the sale last?
A: The sale starts on 12 June 2015 and ends 29 June. The front page of the website will be updated once the sale is launched.
Q: I'm a bit confused about the capped shipping. Can you explain a bit further? f I buy 10 boxes or tanks, 2 Desert Forts and 1 Ruins, how much will I be charged and will the webstore show the correct freight?
A: The maximum you will be charged for shipping orders from the sale is US$10 / €8 / £5, except for orders which include a Desert Fort or Desert Fort Ruins - they will be charged an additional US$10 / €8 / £5 for each Desert Fort or Desert Fort and Ruins. Don't worry about the 'Shipping Cost' listed at check-out. The correct freight charge will be applied by our warehouse team when your order is downloaded and processed. Here are a few examples:

  • Arthur orders 8 Arab-Israeli War tank boxes and 5 blisters. He will only be charged US$10 for shipping.
  • Barry orders 10 tank boxes, 1 Desert Fort and 1 Ruins. He will be charged US$20 for shipping.
  • Catherine orders 12 tank boxes, 2 Desert Forts and 1 Ruins. She will be charged US$30 for shipping.

Q: Is the Desert Fort included in the 40% discount?
A: No.
Q: If I have already pre-ordered a Desert Fort do I need to do anything?
A: No, you should already have received an email from us outlining what to do.

Tabletop-Art: 15mm Terrain and accessories available soon

So I found this while snooping around on the web looks like some interesting terrain pieces that could be used as objectives in Flames of War or just some cool terrain.

Some of you might remember that a while ago we were offering 15mm terrain and accessories in our shop. Luckily, we recently have acquired the rights so that we will be able to offer the complete series again. There will not only be loads of previously unreleased products, we will also add a lot of new ones to the range :) Perfect for WW2 games in a scale of 15mm. The first products will be available on 29 October, after that we will launch some new stuff every month.

BattleFront Miniatures: Flames of War Early War Sale

Party Like Its 1941

Party Like Its 1941
In November 2009 we embarked on an ambitious project to go back to where the war began and started work on what would become Blitzkrieg. Over the next five years we spent over 5,500 hours creating the Early-war series of books and covering the period like no one has done before.

Let us roll out the numbers…
• We wrote over 760 pages of content.
• We created 117 new companies.
• We laid up over 800 platoon diagrams.
• We sculpted, painted, and released over 250 products.
• Hundreds of people around the world helped out as play testers or contributors.
• And we took more photos and wrote more web articles than we can possibly count!

Click on the book images below to read the Design Notes for each of the Early-war titles
Blitzkrieg (FW301) Hellfire and Back! (FW302) Burning Empires (FW303) Rising Sun (FW304)
Check out all of the Early-war products in the online store here...
Sitting around the table and getting all nostalgic was fun for us but it was not going to help people get tanks on the table and we want everyone to have the chance to enjoy Early-war as much as we do. So next week we are launching an Early-war sale covering pretty much every tank, gun, infantry team (as well as a few other things) with an E on it. For a limited time you will be able to buy two and get a third for free. We will also have special pricing on the Early-war books (Blitzkrieg, Hellfire and Back, Burning Empires and Rising Sun) so you can complete your collection or start a new theatre. We are also going to put a cap on the amount you are going to pay for shipping so you can spend more on figures and less on freight.
Party Like Its 1941
Download a Excel spreadsheet of all the products included in the Early-war sale here...
Sale Starts 19 September!
So where too from here? Early War is now done…but is it?

Getting to Barbarossa and the end of our Early-war book plan does not mean that Early-war gaming has to come to an end! Wayne has been working on a few extra digital briefings covering Belgium to Yugoslavia, Mike always has something up his sleeve, Phil keeps talking about Fallschirmjäger and the White Cliffs of Dover, and did someone say Early-war Experimentals? And don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about the Hungarians or Romanians either!

Right: The cover of Barbarossa: Germany's Invasion Of The Soviet Union, June - December 1941.
Barbarossa (FW305)
Early-war Sale Q & A
Q: Will the new Barbarossa book and releases be included in the sale?
A: Barbarossa is released after the conclusion of the sale. However this is a great opportunity to get your supporting units and figures in preparation for the release of this book.

Q: How is the discount calculated?
A: We will sort your purchases in descending price order and change every third sale item to $0. So if you ordered 2 BR702 BEF Rifle Platoons ($18 USD each), 1 BR310 Daimler Dingo ($14.50 USD) and 3 BR052 Matilda IIs ($13 USD each), you would get the blister of Daimler Dingos and 1 of the Matilda II blisters for free.

Q: Do books count towards the Buy 2, Get 1 Free deal?
A: Yes. If you add any of the four books to your order they will count towards the buying 2 and getting 1 free (at the discounted prices obviously). So if you buy 1 book and 2 other products you will get 1 of them for free.

Q: Will there be stock?
A: Yes, although if demand is higher than our stock levels we will get it made as soon as possible and have orders completely fulfilled in the same order that they came through the webstore. Orders will be fulfilled in the order that they are received so get in early to avoid disappointment.

Q: My Order shows my shipping is more than the (above) listed maximum, what gives?
A: Our webstore automatically calculates shipping costs, so your total will show as the calculated value. When we fulfill the order, we will chop off anything in excess of your region's maximum (listed above)!

Q: How long does the sale last?
A: The sale starts on 19 September 2014 and ends 6 October. The front page of the website will be updated once the store has the sale pricing.

Battle Front: Flames of War Announcement (Forces of War)

Forces Of War

Forces Of War!
For many years one of our play testers and proof readers Gregg Siter has in his spare time been running Easy Army. He created it out of a personal desire to have a tool to manage his armies but it has grown so that many other people can now do the same. For those of you who don’t know this is a force building software package that helps you create and use army lists. When we gave Gregg the okay right at the start to do this we always assumed this would evolve into something more and now that time has come.

Easy Army is going to evolve into Forces of War. This will be an official FOW army builder that at its core uses Easy Army but now will have more features and graphics than ever before. We still have a little more work to do until we can show you the final version but our goal is to have it up and running before our next book, Barbarossa, is out in October. Stay tuned for more news as we will be showing you what it looks like and how it will work in the coming weeks.

First Flames of War Unit

Well this is my first miniature unit I have completed, and my first Flames of War Unit. It's not the only miniature I've painted, I have completed a few 40K miniatures but never a full unit. Any thoughts or constructive critiques would be appreciated and if any one has any tips on improving my photos.

Flames of War Tanksgiving 2013

TREAD HEADS REJOICE!!! Hallelujah.

Ok enough of that, Battlefront has once again announce Tanksgiving. Short story is you can bring up to 4 companies of up 1500 points per company and only bring companies on which the combat platoons are rates as tank teams, IE lots and lots or TANKS!! I copied the a snippet of the rules and regulations for the events below so you have an idea of what you need to get ready for the full article is linked above,

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. All players may only bring companies in which their combat platoons are rated as tank teams. A platoon must have at least half of the teams rated as tank teams.

2. All players may bring up to four companies. Each company cannot exceed 1500 points and a new company must be purchased if your company exceeds 1500 points.

3. Each player may only bring one infantry platoon per company and as many platoons that are rated as gun teams as are legally allowed in each company.

4. No player may have air power in any of their companies. Special Rules for air power are provided below.

5. Each side calculates how many total companies they have and compares that to the total number of enemy companies.

6. This scenario uses the Battle group Morale, Prepared Positions, Mobile Battle, Ambush and Tanksgiving Reserves (see below) special rules.
